HOW TO GET YOUR LIPSTICK TO SURVIVE THE WHOLE DAY

The last thing you need to be worried about is your lipstick smearing... Most of the time, looking fresh is all in the formulation and finding a flawless product so your lipstick won’t find its way onto the rim of your cocktail glass… Here are the step-by-step rules for maintaining “life-resistant” lips.
SCRUBBING & HYDRATING
exfoliating with a fine sugar scrub like honey & brown sugar, is the best way to do this, be sure to apply the scrub, let it sit for a minute, then remove it with a moist cloth. You can also use a soft toothbrush to lightly apply a hydrating lip conditioner like Dr. PawPaw’s Soothing Balm.
PREPWORK & PRIMING
Ahead of applying your color, you should prepare your lips with a primer. This is really necessary if someone has extremely dry lips. If you have nicely moistened lips, skip this step as it adds an extra layer of product that may make the color less likely to stay-put. However, If you do have dried-out skin and need to deliver extra moisturization to prepare your lips ahead of the lipstick so as to make the most of wear time, try a high-quality lip primer or lip protectant, which offers an all-weather armor and more moisture.
LINE-IT-OUT & FILL-THEM-IN
Lip liners are recommended by the professionals to preserve color and reduce fading... Dual-pencils like provide longer-lasting, hydrating and smear-resistant colors. The magic here is in applying your lip liners properly. You need to line and fill in the lips completely with a liner with a similarly colored liner being sure to line and fill them in before applying your favorite lipstick. This will ensure you get the perfect lip color that not only knocks the boys out, but lasts through the day or night.
APPLYING AND BLOTTING
Fluid lip colors are simple to put on, they are not too dry and deliver solid coverage all day long. If you really want “staying-power,” use a matte finish, as they tend to be lighter-weight, more water-resistant and tend to have velvety textures. After putting on your lipstick, be sure to blot and reapply again, layering on your color and blotting it till’ you have the ideal hue you are looking for.
USE POWDER TO SET THEM PERFECTLY
Remember setting your color with a transparent powder, a small amount goes a long way and makes certain your lips will not get to caked-up. Good powder will work to “set” the color while avoiding troublesome transfers… However, If you have drier lips, you need to avoid using powder since your lip color will make them even more dried out.
