HOW TO ACHIEVE FLAWLESS LIPS

With a little extra care your lips can look flawless and feel great fast. Just follow these steps then you’ll be left with perfect lips.

CARRY WATER WITH YOU EVERYWHERE
If you drink the right amount of water it will keep your body healthy and hydrated. Your lips won’t be chapped and your skin will be clear too.

STOP LICKING
While you may be licking your lips in hopes of keeping them from being dry. However, this is in fact NOT true and does the opposite!! When you lick your lips the saliva actually makes your lips even worse. Saliva has enzymes in it that are used to break down food when it’s in your mouth. Saliva will damage your lips further.

LIP BALM IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!
Make sure to always apply chapstick. This will keep your lips smooth and protect them from being chapped. When finding a lip balm look for ingredients that are going to help hydrate. These include beeswax, vitamin E, coconut oil and shea butter. If your skin is sensitive use medicated lip balms If you have sensitive skin, use camphor-based medicated lip balms delicately.

USE A HUMIDIFIER

Try plugging in a humidifier if the air is dry. This will help keep your skin hydrated.

EXFOLIATE
Exfoliating your lips will get rid of dead skin from your lips, just like with facial scrubs. If you have more sensitive or chapped lips, be sure you’re careful with a lip scrub. Try not to use a scrub more than once a week, because they contain acid which might irritate or damage the skin further.

PROTECTION!!!
Lips can be easily damaged because the skin is so delicate. Be sure to keep them protected, especially from the sun. Try using a sun protective chapstick or moisturizer for your lips if you plan on being outside.

MATTE IS NOT YOUR GO TO
Matte lipstick is normally super drying on your lips which lets them stay on for such a long time. That’s why you should try to stay away from them as much as you can. If you absolutely love your mattes, try to use them occasionally. Using them too often will further dry and crack your lips. Instead of these, use a hydrating lipstick, or use chapstick before you apply your matte lipstick. However, this won’t always do much, so still try to reach for a more moisturizing one.

PLUMP YOUR LIPS
If you want fuller looking lips, try using a lip liner darker than the actual lipstick, and overdraw your lips to the shape you want. Once you have your lipstick evenly on your lips, try putting a small drop of foundation in the middle and blend it in. Try adding some lipgloss at the end.

ACHIEVE HEALTHIER LIPS

Follow this to learn how to treat common problems and get the lips you want.

If you have a cut in the corner of your mouth: Make sure to keep your lips moisturized and apply lip balm religiously. Try using a Hydrocortisone cream on the cut.

FLAKY LIPS

If the skin on your lips is constantly peeling off, you may be allergic to a product you use frequently. This could be something along the lines of makeup, toothpaste, or medicine. A medicine that is best known for chapped and sore lips is Accutane. If they’re hurt or itch try seeing a doctor and see what they recommend.

WRINKLES SURROUNDING YOUR LIPS

Wrinkles by your mouth can be caused by a few things. It could be from the sun, smoking, or just because you’re aging. If you notice wrinkles around your mouth, treat them like you would with any other wrinkles. Peels and creams work the best.

Small lips: Most of us like the look of full and plump lips, however, not all of us have them. So if you’re looking to have fuller lips, a temporary option could be Zyderm. There is no real way to give you forever plumped lips, but Zyderm injections cost around $300 and last six months.
